I work for an interior design magazine, and this property, Whisper Villa, located within the traditional village of Balafia in the San Lorenzo region, is the model home of the area. The house certainly stands out for its pleasant balance between traditional architecture and that of new trends. Its original eighteenth-century tower and avant-garde interior design gives it bonus points for originality and charm, making it especially attractive for celebrating one-of-a-kind events, like weddings or journalistic productions. Nonetheless, this very cool and striking combination was not the only thing I fell in love with during my stay at this villa.
The house itself, measuring around 415 m2, stands in the middle of a spectacular 5,000-m2 garden. Once we had finished doing our report there and had gathered all of our equipment, this great feeling of peace and serenity overcame me. I felt something in my heart, a little whisper telling me to enjoy the villa in a different way. With that, I decided to spend my holidays here with a group of friends whom I normally travel with and whom, this time, I wanted to impress with this really special place offering total privacy and comfortable luxury. After adding up all the couples and other friends, in total, there were 10 of us guests divided comfortably amongst the house’s 5 spacious double bedrooms (2 of which are located in the tower). Everyone was blown away by the wonderful location: in the centre of the island and very close to incredible restaurants, such as Can Balafi, La Paloma, and Ses Escoles. Around 16 km away is the Ibiza city centre, approximately 10 minutes away is the town of Santa Eulalia, and the same short distance away are the beaches of Benirrás, Cala Nova, and Cala Xucla.
What is really amazing is the surrounding environment, providing spectacular views of the valley and of the historic tower with its white stone walls cutting through the blue Ibiza sky. Perhaps it is the garden’s rich fragrance that brought about the sense of wellbeing and serenity that I cherished so much that first day. My friends and I took full advantage of the delightful swimming pool, the outdoor dinning area, as well as the various chill-out areas perfectly integrated into the landscape. Amongst its other beautiful features, the open paths weaving through the greenery make going on a walk especially inviting.
The whitewashed walls also enrich the house’s interior; the mixture of styles and time periods make it the epitome of comfort and good taste. Nothing lacks in the 4 full bathrooms, nor in the spacious bedrooms (all beautifully distinct from one another). Of course, I must mention the dining room, which in its time used to be an old oil mill, and the enormous, homely fully equipped kitchen, which for most of us turned into one of our favorite spots for gathering all together. Choosing this place was an excellent decision, and there was nothing but love felt between the house and the group. We absolutely adored staying at Whisper Villa!
